Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has named four new vice presidents to joint state oil company Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) as well as a new president to head subsidiary Corporacion Venezolana de Petroleo (CVP) as part of larger oil sector restructuring. The appointments come just weeks after Maduro declared Venezuela is in an “energy emergency” and announced the creation of a special commission aimed at transforming the oil sector and PDVSA (OD Feb.21’20).
