Argentina rode a steady flow of unconventional oil production from the Vaca Muerta Shale to an increase in crude exports during the second quarter amid low local demand -a trend observed as officials weigh the potential of sales abroad to bring much-needed hard currency into the nation's struggling economy. Neuquen province, which lies at the heart of the Vaca Muerta, said about 40% of its July oil output, or 61,600 barrels per day, was sold abroad. The July cargoes were mainly destined for the US and Denmark, with eight companies exporting.
