Gazprom Poised to Dominate Oil, Gas in Kyrgyzstan

Russia’s Gazprom looks set to expand its upstream operations in Central Asia after signing last week a road map on acquiring the property and assets of Kyrgyzneftegaz.The road map, signed with the Kyrgyz state oil and gas company during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Bishkek, outlines mu- tual obligations and a plan for further action, Gazprom said. The Russian state-controlled gas giant said it now plans to evaluate the Kyrgyz compa- ny’s assets and prepare a financial fea- sibility assessment of the deal.
