EU’s new anti-dumping rules could hit Chinese steel, aluminium exports

The European Union Council of Ministers has now formally approvednew EU anti-dumping rules which may help the EU imposeanti-dumping duties against Chinese dumped metal exports,clearing the way for the new system to come into force by December20.Ministers approved a system on Monday December 4 that had beenaccepted by the European Parliament on November 15. The system“will identify and redress cases where prices of imported products areartificially lowered due to state intervention,” according to a councilnote. In the metal sector, the most likely targets of future EUanti-dumping duties are steel and aluminium products.
