Antwerp iron, steel imports from India up 91% in 2017, port authority says

Iron and steel imports from India handled by the Port of Antwerp in Belgium have risen 91% year-on-year in 2017, the port authority said this week.Imports of iron and steel from India totaled 520,209 tonnes in 2017, offsetting a 44% year-on-year drop in steel imports from China, which fell to 657,308 tonnes in 2017, Antwerp Port Authority (APA) said."[The fall in Chinese iron and steel imports] was largely due to the anti-dumping measures taken by the EU to curb imports of Chinese steel at below market prices," the APA said.
