RWE Jan-sept earnings rise; raises FY guidance

German utility RWE reported a 15% increase in its earnings in the first nine months of the year, driven primarily by a strong performance from its trading division. Adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose to EUR1.50bn ($1.65bn) in the first nine months, compared to EUR1.30bn ($1.43bn) a year ago. Net income rose 32% to EUR854m ($939.48m) from EUR645m ($709.56m) over the same period.
