Contura sees 3% rise in 2020 met shipments

United States (US) coal producer Contura Energy expects its 2020 Central Appalachia (CAPP) metallurgical shipments to increase from 2019 to a range of 12.7-13.3 mst (short tons), while CAPP thermal volume is being reduced to 3.4-4.0 mst, or down by about 15-21% from expected 2019 thermal volumes. The anticipated 2020 met shipments would be an increase of nearly 3% from expected 2019 volumes of 12.4-13.0 mst, though Contura also reduced its 2019 met guidance from a previous 12.8- 13.7 mst, or down between 3-5%.
