India: Market participants await contract settlement

Some Indian MOP importers that are not directly involved in contract negotiations suggest that they are prepared for a 2018/19 contract price increase of up to around $40/t from the previous $240/t CFR, and that a settlement is likely to be agreed by the end of August. Still, there have yet to be any reports of progression in contract negotiations since BPC was reported to have entered discussions with IPL two weeks ago. It remains unclear whether any formal offers were submitted at that time.
