UK: Potash imports remain at record high

The UK imported a record-high 310,317 mt MOP in January through August, IHS GTA trade data show. The volume was triple the 103,105 mt MOP record for the same period of 2016. Imports from Spain’s ICL Iberia shot up to 85,901 mt from just 69 mt in January-August 2016. ICL UK is phasing out production of MOP at its Boulby mine in North Yorkshire as it ramps up polyhalite output.
