South Korea: January-August MOP imports up 18%

South Korea’s August MOP imports increased 4% year on year to 27,570 mt, updated trade data show. January-August arrivals were up 18% from the same period of 2016 at 438,901 mt. In August, South Korea imported 20,965 mt MOP from Canpotex, a 34% increase from the same month of 2016, while 6,560 mt were sourced from Laos, up from nothing previously. Arrivals from Canpotex totalled 289,618 mt over the first eight months of 2017, up 3% year on year.
