Chile: Spot acid demand still absent

Spot prices for sulphuric acid cargoes to Chile were again assessed unchanged on an indicative basis at $30-40/t CFR, though some sources pegged prices outside either end of the range. No new deals have been reported for several weeks due to a lack of demand. Many sources pegged current prices in the $20s/t CFR, though others argued that tighter availability and higher offers from Far East producers mean that new purchases would require prices around $40/t CFR or higher, particularly as freight rates have inched up again.
