India’s Department of Fertilizers has increased its planned allocation of fertilizer subsidy repayments for April to INR 220.2 billion ($2.88 billion) from its previously planned INR 56.8 billion ($741.7 million), people familiar with the matter told Fertilizer Week. Of the April repayment fund, INR 100 billion will go towards special banking arrangements for arrears payments in India, which are is now reported at around INR 500 billion ($6.53 billion) owed.
