Excitement is mounting ahead of India’s RCF import tender for an unspecified volume of urea which closes June 19, with speculation concerning availability versus requirements and prices on offer swirling at the time of writing. Outside of India, increased purchasing by Argentina and Uruguay also garnered attention in what is otherwise a slow market. Importers in the two countries paid up substantially compared to prior deals, while the surge in Brazilian prices seen last week abated as importers rejected price offers above $245/t CFR.
