A discussion of a possible suspension of the US renewable fuel standard (RFS) that currently mandates blending ethanol with gasoline is blamed for the continuing decline in US corn prices. Governors from some oil producing states last week urged the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to temporarily suspend the RFS requirement while the nation's oil refiners suffer due to the Covid-19 virus. The agency has not responded to the governors' letter yet.
