Weak domestic demand coupled with a lack of buying interest in key regional markets such as Turkey have prompted Ukrainian producers to reduce operating rates starting May, sources in Ukraine report. Still, some producers are hopeful AS application will pick up in southern parts of the country but express concerns over the lack of rainfall deterring farmers from applying fertilizers.
