Brazil: September AS arrivals jump 88%

AS bookings for Brazil in September amount to 398,481 t to date, a 88% increase on September 2019 when AS imports reached 211,891 t. All but 27,535 t booked so far are loading in China. Given the recent increase in the China FOB AS price and the reduced West European AS availability with Lanxess' caprolactam plant shut for maintenance in September, traders point to upward pressure on the Brazil Spot, with current offers moving up to $130-135/t CFR.
