Cheshire Issue Still Unresolved; Cargo Less Threat Than Previously Reported

The bulk fertilizer motor vessel Cheshire continues to be unresolved and emitting fumes off the coast of the Canary Islands (GM Aug. 18, p. 27), according to the latest reports from the ship owner, Bibby Line Ltd., Liverpool, and the fertilizer’s producer, Yara International ASA, Oslo. As earlier reported, a fire occurred on the fertilizer-laden vessel, and its crew was evacuated.
