Filipino firm PXP perseveres in bid for Malampaya gas field despite DOE rejection

PXP Energy is considering lobbying the Philippine's Department of Energy to reconsider its unsolicited proposal to obtain the offshore licence containing the Malampaya gas field, the country's principle source of domestic gas. The DOE rejected the bid in November, weeks after PXP's hopes of buying Chevron's Malampaya stake were dashed by compatriot Udenna Corporation.
