…and completes Gabon sale

Shell has completed the sale of its entire Gabon onshore oil and gas assets to Assala Energy Holdings, part of The Carlyle Group, for US $628m. This sale was announced in March 2017 and it has an economic date of 31 December 2015. Under the deal, Assala Energy will assume debt of $285m. The transaction will result in a total post-tax impairment for Shell of $151m. Of this impairment, $53m was taken in Q1 2017, $98m will be taken in Q3 2017 with a final reconciliation to be reflected in Q4 2017, Shell said.
