Statoil joins subsea JIP

Statoil has joined a Joint Industry Project (JIP) that is “set to revolutionize subsea boosting pumps.” Ask an equipment manufacturer for cheap, light, and strong, and most will tell you it can't be done, said Fuglesangs Subsea, the project manager for the JIP. “We think we've cracked the code,” said CEO Alexander Fuglesang. “This project has the potential to deliver improvements in all three areas: cost, weight, and reliability.”
