Philippines’ Palawan55, a subsidiary of Phinma Petroleum and Geothermal, has started the appraisal phase of Service Contract 55 (SC 55 in the Palawan Basin offshore the Philippines. Palawan 55 is committed to drilling one deepwa- ter well within the first two years of this period. SC 55 covers a deepwater exploration block off southwest Palawan, covering an area of 9,880sq km.
