A Repsol subsidiary has halted a contract for a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit for the development of an offshore Vietnam block due to a force majeure event. The announcement, made by the contractors, a joint venture between Malaysian FPSO provider Yinson and Petrovietnam Technical Services Corp. (PTSC), comes just days after Vietnam reportedly asked Repsol to stop work due to pressure from China, as the block falls within disputed waters in the South China Sea (IOD Mar.26'18).
