An uplifting day at Brooklands, hobnobbing with the car lovers who gather there every New Year's Day for what is easily the UK's biggest classic gathering. I found myself very much drawn to the quirky stuff: two-stroke Saabs, a superb Panhard, a mighty Tatra, Beetles, Imps, Citroens, Deux Chevauxs - the dafter the better.
