Druzhba deliveries to Poland were briefy interrupted again on 19-20 June after excessive organic chloride content was found in crude in the pipeline system. Pumping was suspended for just over 12 hours until 08.37 on 20 June, when testing revealed organic chloride content of 60ppm in the Mozyr-Adamowo sec- tion of Druzhba, between Belarus and Poland. The “short-term increase” in organic chloride content was probably caused by the “automatic activation of drainage unit pumping systems”, releasing about 20m~3 (126 bl) of contaminated crude into the pipeline, Transneft says.
