Rosneft discusses Sakhalin pipeline deal

Rosneft is discussing access to the Sakhalin 1 consortium’s crude transport infra- structure in Russia’s far east with project operator ExxonMobil - the Russian frm has a 20pc shareholding in Sakhalin 1. Use of Sakhalin 1’s 230km pipeline to the Russian mainland port of De-Kastri - from the Chaivo feld across Sakhalin island and the Tatar strait - would allow Rosneft production subsidiary Sakhalinmorneftegaz to resume output. It sus- pended production last month because of an accident on the Okha-Komsomolsk pipeline, which carries crude from Rosneft felds on and ofshore Sakhalin island.
