Novatek still plans to sell 75pc of the LNG produced by the Yamal LNG consor- tium under long-term contracts and 25pc on a spot basis this year, the frm’s chief financial ofcer Mark Gyetvay reiterated in a recent conference call with investors. The issue was raised after the share of spot sales rose to 43pc in April-June, compared with 28pc in January-March, after two of the Yamal LNG trains were shut down for maintenance work. Sticking to the original long-term/ spot target implies that Novatek should sell 8.4mn t under long-term contracts in July-December 2020, 2.2mn t more than in January-June.
