DAP/MAP prices surpass $400/t fob and cfr

Contrary to seasonal expectations, prices for all phosphate products continue to rise dramatically, fuelled by fi rm raw material costs and thin supply out of China. The headline price is the sale of 30,000t DAP/MAP ex-Saudi Arabia to Australia at $410/t fob, up $35/t on Argus' last assessment. In Pakistan, DAP has traded above $400/t cfr, up at least $10/t on last done business. This refl ects the mid-$380s/t fob China. Indian cfr prices have disconnected somewhat from Pakistan because of each sale representing a loss for importers at current levels. No fresh sales are reported there this week.
