Iran boosts crude exports

Iran says its crude exports rose to a new post-sanctions high in July, thanks largely to sharply higher sales to refiners in India. Crude exports reached a post-sanctions high of 2.14mn b/d in July, Iranian oil firm NIOC says. Condensate exports were another 600,000 b/d on top of that, it says. The firm’s crude exports have risen by around 800,000 b/d since the start of this year and are “in good shape”, even if they have not quite reached the 2.35mn b/d recorded before the US and EU imposed sanctions in 2012, NIOC director for international affairs Mohsen Qamsari says. Argus tracking puts Iranian crude exports slightly lower at 2.08mn b/d in July, up from 1.9mn b/d in June and largely in line with exports in April-May (see graph).
