Canadian pipeline plans hit further delays

Producers of Canadian heavy crude will have to wait another year for the start-up of vital pipelines needed to move their output to market. Permitting delays in Minnesota will prevent midstream frm Enbridge’s 760,000 b/d Line 3 pipeline replacement project from starting up before mid-2020, the company says. Enbridge had planned to begin service on the line at the end of this year. It expects to receive state and federal permits for the project this autumn, but still faces court challenges to its proposed upgrade to a pipeline system that had been operating at 390,000 b/d.
