Attacks leave output at lowest in a decade

Opec crude output fell to its lowest in over 10 years after drone and missile at- tacks cut wellhead production in Saudi Arabia. Opec crude output fell by just over 1.4mn b/d - or nearly 5pc - to 28.4mn b/d in September - the lowest for the current confguration of members since April 2009, following a demand shock in the aftermath of the Great Recession that forced producers to make drastic supply cuts. Compliance among the 11 members bound by the Opec+ agreement rose to nearly 300pc last month, after Saudi-led discipline kept levels at 130pc in January-August (see graph).
