China's Fujian province has started reimposing restrictions on coal imports at two of its ports from 1 April, raising concerns that China could be weighing up means to slow some arrivals of seaborne coal. The Fuzhou customs authority, which governs imports and exports through ports in Fujian, has instructed local ports to restrict coal imports, both verbally and with follow-up documents in some cases. Kemen and Dongwu ports in the south China province are possibly affected, market participants told Argus.
