Russia’s VTB bank to claim bankruptcy of Mechel

Russia’s state-controlled VTB bank said Saturday it intends to claim bankruptcy of the steelmaking Group Mechel. The company is given 30 days to make arrangements with the bank. If the conflicting parties do not come to terms, the bank will fill file bankruptcy claim with an arbitration court which serves the area where Mechel is registered. According to Russian newspaper Vedomosti, Mechel owes to VTB RUB 70 billion and $170 million.
