Discussions begin on Thai wire rod JV

Kobe Steel of Japan and Thailand's Millcon Steel have signed a memorandum of understanding to set up a joint venture (JV) to produce and sell steel wire rods in Thailand.The new enterprise will be based on the assets of shuttered Thai Special Steel Industry in Rayong province, southeast of Bangkok, which Millcon acquired last year.
