Steel output in Brazil to fall this year

Brazilian mills will produce 32.9 Mt of crude steel this year, 1% lower than last year, while sales are expectedto drop by 4.1% to 17.4 Mt, the Brazil Steel Institute predicted this week.The sector is having to tackle a severe slump in demand during the country's worst recession in ageneration, with institute president Marco Polo de Mello Lopes saying the industry is suffering its worst evercrisis.
