摘要

Pilot experimental cryosurgery on a recently pregnant sheep breast model is presented. Three tissue fixation protocols have been tested to study the feasibility of preserving the entire breast for both macroscopic and microscopic examination. Viability testing using the 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) histochemical technique has further been applied. A comparison is presented of the frozen region diameter, measured in situ via ultrasound images, with the cryoinjured region diameter, measured during histological examination. [References: 17]
