The Japanese firm will commence operations at its new A$110MM ($83MM), 5.66MM-b/y diesel import terminal at Port Bonython in South Australia in June. Australia has closed a number of refineries in recent years leading it to become the largest importer of ULSD in Asia, and Mitsubishi Corp. along with a number of other Japanese firms (Idemitsu Kosan, TonenGeneral Sekiyu) have looked to add refined product import capacity in the country to meet domestic demand.
