Saudi Aramco has initiated talks with both international and local banks to secure a $10B loan that will be utilized to fund acquisitions and investments, with a particular eye on downstream PC assets including the synthetic-rubber unit of German chemical firm Lanxess. The Saudi Arabian energy major is also looking to raise an additional $8.OB in funds to expand its 400K-b/d Petro Rabigh refining and PC complex, a j.v. with Japanese Sumitomo Chemical.
