Erucic acid decreased and linoleic acid increased in the siliquae walls and seeds of Indian mustard cultivars RH30, RH8812 and Varuna infected by Alternaria (A. brassicae and A. brassicicola). Linolenic acid remained unchanged in seeds, and decreased slightly in siliquae walls of diseased plants. Disease increased palmitic acid and oleic acid in the siliquae. Disease did not affect palmitic acid in seeds, but oleic acid was lower in diseased seeds than in healthy seeds.
