YOU have developed a respiratory service that you believe is unique in community pharmacy. You have audited the pharmacy interventions on your medical admissions unit and got some surprising results. You have piloted a new tool for assessing patients' risk of medicines-related problems when they transfer between care settings. Perhaps one of these scenarios sounds familiar. But all too frequently when pharmacists undertake a piece of research or audit, or embark on an innovative project or service redesign, they are not thinking about how their findings might be communicated. We would hazard a guess that the details are rarely shared outside their workplace. Yet this is information that is valuable for the profession; moreover, it is hugely important for advancing patient care.
