THE idea that some patients in Wales could register formally with a named pharmacy or pharmacist has received support from Mark Drakeford, Minister for Health and Social Services in Wales. He was speaking at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Wales 2013 conference, which took place last week in Cardiff. "We want to build on [established relationships] so that we can strengthen the contribution that pharmacists make to the care of the most vulnerable patients," said Professor Drakeford. "The possibility of registering selected patients — vulnerable patients — with a pharmacy or pharmacist is one way in which we could do just that."
