The Welsh Assembly Government last week used ICE's Wales' flooding conference to unveil a £65M flood defence programme.rnEnvironment, sustainability and housing minister Jane Davidson outlined details for 12 schemes around Wales, including major coastal defence improvements at Tywyn and Borth in Cardigan Bay and inland flooding schemes at Conwy in North Wales and Rhydyfelin in South Wales. Davidson said: "There is a realisation that our communities are at growing risk from flooding and coastal erosion due to the impact of climate change. We have to alleviate its effect on our communities and prepare in the best way we can. No one can stop flooding, but we can prepare.
