GHP calls for European registers to list prescribers and drug information

PHARMACISTS have called for the creation of two Europe-wide registers: one to include a summary of product information for all available medicines and another giving details of health professionals who are registered to prescribe. The two registers are crucial to protect patient safety following an EU Directive that would allow prescriptions written in one European country to be dispensed in another, the Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists has warned.
