TACKLING inconsistencies in the quota system will have immediate benefits on the problem of UK drug shortages, according to a number of pharmacy organisations speaking at the All-Party Pharmacy Group's inquiry into NHS medicines shortages earlier this week. The organisations, including the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and Pharmacy Voice, agreed that the current quota system is unworkable.
