APPG tells DoH: act now over shortages

MEDICINES shortages are getting worse and the Government must act urgently to protect UK patients, according to a damning report published by the All-Party Pharmacy Group. Shortages are caused principally by "speculators" exporting medicines intended for NHS patients, but have been worsened by quotas and supply arrangements imposed by manufacturers and wholesalers, the APPG inquiry into the issue has concluded.
