Annual Planning and Programming Guidance (APPG). The new APPG channels near andmidterm planning and programming endeavors, as well as long-term program development. Moreover, it provides the basis for accountability and assures Air Force progress toward explicit long-range strategic goals envisioned in Global Engagement and Joint Vision 2010 (JV 2010). This guidance defines the future force and requisite support for the FY00-05 POM build. The APPG provides this information in the following three chapters: Section A--Document Outline; Strategic Planning and Programming Context; Planning Guidance; Programming Guidance.
