Radical plans to boost drug access

MAKING sure formularies reflect national recommendations on new drugs and giving drug companies access to anonymised patient data are part of a new Government strategy for driving the development of the life sciences in the UK. Unveiling the strategy last week, along with a report by NHS chief executive Sir David Nicholson on speeding up NHS drug development and adoption, Prime Minister David Cameron said he hopes to make the UK the global hub for the life sciences.
