Pharmacists should be more involved in writing antibiotics prescribing policies to help fight healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs), according to a report published by the British Medical Association this week.The report, "Tackling healthcare associated infections through effective policy action", points out that optimal prescribing should be facilitated by close collaboration between clinical pharmacists, medical microbiologists and infectious diseases physicians.
