Aspirin most likely contender for use in cancer prevention

Data on the risk-benefit profile for the cancer prevention effects of aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are insufficient and no definitive recommendations can be made, a review published in The Lancet Oncology on 29 April 2009 concludes. However, the authors point out that aspirin has emerged as the most likely NSAID for use in chemoprevention because of its known cardiovascular benefit and available safety and efficacy data.
