Generic switch of Tazocin can lead to errors

Clearer labelling of 'reconstituted generic piperacillin/tazobactam products has been called for because of the risk of serious medication errors due to differing compatibility of generic piperacillin/tazobactam products with other medicines compared with the brand leader Tazocin. The issue is highlighted in the January 2009 issue of Drug Safety Update, published by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.
