Wholesalers will have no choice but to reduce their stock levels in preparation for changes to the Pharmaceutical Price Regulation Scheme,part of which will come into effect on 1 January 2009,said Ian Brownlee,chairman of the British Association,of Pharmaceutical Wholesalers.Speaking at the BAPW's annual parliamentary reception in London on 22 October 2008,he said that the implementation of the PPRS,leading to devaluation of stock held,is"a serious financial issue for pharmacy wholesalers".
